Please find the details of key members of UKAT staff.

Allan Osborne - CEO  

Allan has been in education for 24 years and in senior leadership for 19 of those. He has served as Head of Sixth Form, SENCO, Assistant and Deputy Headteacher, Headteacher, Executive Headteacher and Director of Education for Ongar. He has also had the opportunity to work in several educational settings including Primary, Secondary, University Technical College and Further Education.

He has been a Headteacher for over a decade including taking two schools out of special measures to good or outstanding. He was fortunate enough to lead one school to become the third most improved school in the whole country in 2017 - overturning a Progress 8 score of -0.54 to +0.1 in one year.

Allan has worked in inner city London schools for 10 years and in deprived, rural Essex for eight and has worked for two of the biggest academy groups in the country.

At heart, he will always be a teacher by trade and still loves to be in a class of 30 students delivering English or Drama education.

Bio

Wendy Walters - Principal Chatham Grammar

Wendy Walters has been the Principal at Chatham Grammar since 2017. Prior to this, Wendy had worked at the Trust’s sister School Brompton Academy in various leadership roles since 2007. Among those roles, Wendy has been the lead for Quality Assurance across the Trust, as well as being Acting Head of School while the new building was being planned and completed.

 Wendy was also a trained Ofsted inspector for many years before joining Chatham Grammar. Prior to joining the Trust Wendy has held a number of senior and middle leadership roles in other schools across Kent and the South East.

As the first person in her immediate and wider family to attend Sixth Form and University, Wendy is passionate about the opportunities and role that education can play in shaping the lives of young people.

Dan Walters - Principal Brompton Academy

Dan has been working in education for 28 years starting as a design technology teacher but more recently teaching science, engineering, and business studies. He has undertaken many leadership roles including head of year, subject leader, head of faculty and assistant principal.  Dan has been part of senior leadership for the last 8 years, working in schools across Kent. Dan has been involved in school improvement and is proud to be part of leadership teams that have taken schools from special measures to good, while improving outcomes for students.

Dan’s motivation is to ensure all students are provided with a wealth of opportunities so they can have a rewarding and fulfilling life.

Dan is incredibly proud to be the Principal of Brompton Academy and part of a devoted and passionate team of professionals who are dedicated to ‘Transforming Lives Through Learning’.

Jo Price - Director of Corporate Services and Wellbeing

Jo Price is the Director of Corporate Services and Wellbeing at the University of Kent Academies Trust (UKAT). Jo is proud to be part of a dynamic, forward thinking Trust and has been working in educational settings for over 25 years.

Jo is highly experienced in marketing and brand development and has been gifted to work on many new fantastic PR and marketing projects across the Trust such as securing funds to build Brompton Academy, events management, creating new uniforms, designing websites, setting up and building social media platforms, creating high quality promotional videos and developing high end publications across the Trust.

Jo is a super positive person who drives projects with energy, focus, tenacity and passion. Always looking for groundbreaking ways of creative thinking and working and 100% enjoys being part of the UKAT family.

Seb Januszewski - Director of Education

Seb is the Director of Education for UKAT and has worked at the trust for four years. He has more than ten years’ experience as a senior leader in education, with a strong track-record in implementing cultural change, securing viability of provision and delivering outcomes for students at scale and across a range of complex, multi-campus settings. 

Seb has led several ‘Good’ Ofsted Inspections as the senior link/quality nominee and has an extensive background in curriculum and quality improvement-related senior roles, including as Group Director in a large multi-site college in the South-East where he held a significant portfolio which included accountability for Teaching & Learning standards for more than 3,500 students. Seb has highly diverse senior management experience of educational provision including A Levels, GCSEs, Functional Skills, Level 2 and 3 applied generals, work-based learning, HNC/HNDs, AAT and a range of adult professional qualifications. 

Penny Walshe - HR Manager 

Penny leads our HR team at UKAT with a passion for excellence and a commitment to the education sector. With a decade of experience in HR and two decades in education, she is honoured to contribute to young people's lives while ensuring our schools maintain safe workforces.

Her journey into education began volunteering at a secondary school, where she discovered her calling while pursuing an NVQ qualification. Since then, Penny has remained dedicated to the field, driven by the profound impact it has on shaping futures behind the scenes.

Aligned with UKAT's values of expecting the best and working hard for it, Penny empowers her team to uphold these principles. Currently pursuing her Advanced CIPD qualification, she embraces the sector's opportunities for ongoing growth and development.

In her role, Penny is driven by a desire to create a culture where every member of our team feels valued and supported, enabling them to thrive in their roles. Together, we strive to elevate educational experiences and pave the way for a brighter future.

Tommy Stanley

Mr Stanley graduated with a Bachelor of Education Degree from St Mary’s University Belfast specialising in Business Studies and ICT whilst also completing his certificate in Religious Education and Theology. As a senior leader in Kent and Medway schools for 8 years Mr. Stanley has led Safeguarding and Pastoral Support as well as Whole School Academy Progress and Achievement.

 At Brompton Academy however he has been afforded the opportunity to return to where his passion in education lies in Behaviour and Attitudes and Safeguarding with an outstanding team.

Education for Mr Stanley is more than a career it is a vocation and he feels incredibly proud to work with the Brompton Academy community to Transform Lives Through Learning and support our young people in an ever changing world.
