Introduction of New UKAT Sixth Form Local Advisory Board
The Board of Trustees recently agreed that to support the continued growth and development of the UKAT Sixth Form, a new Local Advisory Board (LAB) should be formed to focus solely on this area of the Trust’s work. The LAB will meet at regular times throughout the year and discuss key areas such as vision and values, quality of education, and curriculum development. The Board is made up of representatives from the Trustees, each Academy’s Local Governing Boards, and the Sixth Form Senior Leadership to ensure there is strong communication and collaboration.
I am sure you will join us in welcoming our new members on the LAB. To find out more please visit the UKAT Governance webpage: https://www.universityofkentacademiestrust.org.uk/governance
If you or someone you know would be interested in joining the Chatham Grammar Governing Board, please contact Julia Culham on 01634 852341 or email governors@universityofkentacademiestrust.org.uk
Richard Ebanks - Trustee and Chair of the Local Governing Board
Richard Ebanks was a partner in a very large dental practice in Chatham for over 30 years. He was involved in all aspects of the business including personnel, business development, and finance. He now continues to work as a dentist in a different practice in North Kent.
Richard was asked to become a Governor for Brompton Academy by the Local Authority in 2010, as he had taken a keen interest in all aspects of education. As a Trustee, he has been involved in the oversight of the academies within the Trust but with an emphasis on the Discipline Panels.
Recently he has been asked to Chair the Local Governing Board of Brompton Academy. Richard is a local resident and, when time permits, is a keen amateur rugby referee.
