Sixth Form Life
In the UKAT Sixth Form students are offered a wide range of opportunities both to develop their personal talents and to become proactive and positive members of the wider community.
Every year our Head Students are chosen alongside a Prefect team who are given the opportunity to represent both the Academy and the UKAT Sixth Form at events inside and outside of the Academy. All students become involved in planning, organising and taking part in a number of different activities and events where they can develop skills such as teamwork, organisation and leadership. There are also frequent opportunities for public speaking, an area which builds confidence and to which the school attaches great importance.
Students are given a variety of opportunities to take on responsibilities such as mentoring younger students, organising House and Academy activities, arranging and fund raising for their own Prom to name just a few. Students are able to work closely with the University of Kent and are offered research opportunities, careers development programmes and UCAS preparation.
Students in the UKAT Sixth Form will have the opportunity to develop excellent Academic skills alongside a plethora of experiences that are designed to develop the whole person and ensure they are fully prepared both with excellent results and the skills/qualities and experiences that will make them stand out in the World of University or Work. Visits to Universities, lectures from visiting lecturers, inspirational speakers and the opportunity to take part in a variety of focus days are additional experiences that make Sixth Form life a full one.
Rag Week
The annual Rag Week is held in December, it is arranged by the Sixth Form team and it offers the students the opportunity to work together for a good cause. It's a fabulous event and the money raised is usually shared between three or four charities nominated by the students in the UKAT Sixth Form. In recent years we have raised around £1,500 on average. This event is one of the highlights of the Academy year.
Talent Show
Sixth Form students arranged a talent show that had representatives from all year groups. They trained, practised and honed their skills to ensure that the Talent Show was a great success! This was an excellent opportunity for
the students to develop the interaction within the Sixth Form and the wider community as they worked very closely with younger students to put on a fantastic performance!
